WHO WE ARE

We are the US branch of the worldwide Anushilon revival movement whose aim is to reclaim the extraordinary heritage of the erstwhile Anushilon Somiti movement in early 20th century Bengal. Our focus is to protect, educate and empower the marginalized and distressed communities in Bengal, along with purposeful integration with the diaspora in order to build a new global Bengali community.

Selected activities include:

Rekindle the spirit of original Anushilon in both Bengal and diaspora
Cultural education for youth and adults in both Bengal and diaspora
Empowerment of marginalized and distressed communities in Bengal
Provide relief and assistance in an emergency situation throughout Bengal

Help the Children

Support the children of Bengal just by giving a little and be the big brother or sister for them.

With a rich cultural heritage as the backdrop, the children of disadvantaged communities equally deserve to experience the magnificence of Bengal’s glorious heritage.

WHAT WE DO

We remove hunger

The socially and economically disadvantaged of Bengal are vulnerable to hunger during times of upheaval. We provide food assistance during times of distress and otherwise during shortage of food.

We provide clothing

The socially and economically disadvantaged of Bengal are vulnerable to shortage of clothing. We provide clothing as and when needed, including basic hygiene products to females. This helps them live the life of dignity.

We build shelters

The socially and economically disadvantaged of Bengal are vulnerable to damages to their homes esp. during natural calamities. We provide temporary shelters as well as permanent houses to the affected.

We provide education

Education remains our flagship program and our main area of activity. Our composite educational curricula supplants regular school curriculum, and the local primary schools become the foundation of all development.

Untimely sickness or health challenges disrupts the normal life
